Who is Steve McMichael?Steve and Judy

Steve married Judy (Hanni) McMichael (a New Haven High School '86 grad) over 30 Years ago at New Haven's Emanuel Lutheran Church. Steve and Judy are parents of Kaitlin (NHHS '10) and Alyssa (Woodlan '13). both of which attended Central Lutheran New Haven. Kaitlin, recently married Justin Lothamer of New Haven. Steve and Judy live in New Haven's Castle Rock addition with Alyssa and their dog Zelda. 

Steve is a 1984 graduate of Bishop Luers and attended Ivy Tech, IPFW and Troyer Real Estate School. Steve is the owner of New Haven based Imagine Real Estate - New Haven's largest real estate firm with 14 brokers. A licensed agent since 1993 and Broker since 1995, he has earned the designations of CRS, ABR, SRES, ePro and SFR. Steve consistently ranks in the top 50 agents in the Greater Fort Wayne area based on units sold. 

As the current 5th District New Haven City Councilman and City Council President, Steve has worked with neighborhood associations to build better neighborhoods, has been a proven fiscal conservative and has worked as a steward of the taxpayer's money. Steve was elected as 2018 City Council President by his peers on Council. Steve is helping pave the way to the future today for future generations of New Haven residents.

Steve also serves on various Boards and Committees. Currently, Steve is the Chair of the New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chair of the Paulding-Putnam Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, Founding Member and Past Chair of the New Haven Community Foundation, and Board Member of the Indiana Electric Cooperatives. Past service includes Learn Resource Center Board Chair, Neighborhood President, New Haven Aquatic Committee, New Haven Community Center Committee and a graduate of New Haven Citizen Academy. Steve also served as President of the New Haven Redevelopment Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. 

Before joining the New Haven City Council, Steve was elected to the Adams Township Advisory Board where he served as President. Steve also serves as a Republican Precinct Committeeman and was a delegate to the 2014 Republican State Convention. He also served as Vice Chair of the New Haven Republican Central Committee. 

Among the honors Steve has received are: Pathfinder Services Business Owner of the Year and New Haven Chamber Ambassador of the Year. 

Steve is a long time volunteer and advocate for homebuyer education through Pathfinder Services, a local Non-Profit. He also hosts a weekly radio show "My Hoosier Home" on WHNH 101.3 FM. The show airs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays and features information about local community events and information on Home Buying and Home Ownership. 

When not working, or volunteering Steve enjoys spending time with his family, camping, relaxing on the back patio, trips to DisneyWorld and traveling.
